Road Trip, Day 7

Today was relatively easy, only 4 ½ hours to drive.

I woke up in the morning thinking of how wonderful this week has been, and in particular, how fortunate I was to spend time with two great friends, Stephanie and Beth. At the same time, I thought of all the things I had intended to do on this trip (read more, do some programming, take more online courses, write, sketch) but didn’t do because I really needed this entire week to just decompress and re-center myself.

It would be really great to take this coming week and focus on those extra items. Perhaps I can work on them in the evenings; I certainly can’t take any more time off work at this point, much as I would like to.

2,653 miles driven in 45 hours and 53 minutes, with an overall 35.0 MPG.

I’m very happy with the way the Sonata performed on the trip, especially its ability to go more than 550 miles between fill-ups without the low fuel light illuminating!

And here I close this chapter, but I hope to repeat this adventure each year from now on! I definitely need it 🙂
