Limbo
I still am not sure exactly what my trip in July will turn out to be. Stephanie has yet to respond with anything other than a “probably won’t work” to my requests, but I’m still somewhat hopeful (not much, but a little). If things remain as they are, here’s what I’m looking at:
- leave in the afternoon and drive to Binghamton NY, where I’ll have dinner at Galaxy Brewing
- drive to Ann Arbor MI the next day and have dinner at Grizzly Peak Brewing
- spend the next two days traveling to and exploring the upper peninsula of Michigan – Traverse City area, more or less
- head to Toledo via East Lansing, where I hope to have lunch with my old grad school friend, Beth, and I’ll have dinner that evening at Maumee Bay Brewing where I stopped last summer
- drive to Corning NY and eat at Market Street Brewing, an old favorite
- and back home the next day
My plan is to take lots of fabulous pictures and get lots of rest and relaxation!
As for today, I finally attacked the jungle growth which has been encroaching on the back pool fence. We have “bushes” back there which have been completely taken over by the most amazing and fast-growing vines. At the end of winter, there was a 3-foot-wide clear area between the bushes and the fence, but that was totally gone. I’ve recreated the clear area and ripped all the vines out of the chain link fence (a thankless task!), but there is so much more to do in the way of trimming around the yard. I’m just not looking forward to it at all, but come next weekend (or maybe even tomorrow), I’ll be back at it.
